“At the design stage of central system of automatic traffic surveillance, a careful consideration was given to the possibility to officially authorize MIoR to record traffic offenses from the deck of an aircraft.” says the press secretary of MIoR, Jan Mroz.
It has been estimated that during an hour flight over the motorway from Warsaw to Krakow around 1000 drivers’ offences could be registered. Thus, MIoR will implement a complex system consisting of stationary traffic enforcement cameras and unlabeled police cars. The pictures, taken by the system, are sent via internet to the central system of automatic traffic surveillance, where fines are issued. There are 200 workers in this department.
